In September 1780, Jane Tuers crossed the Hudson River to sell eggs and vegetables in British-occupied New York. She returned with something far more dangerous: a warning about Benedict Arnold’s plot to surrender West Point.
As Jane decides whether to carry the news to her brother, a curious young neighbor dreams of heroism and the girl’s mother fears what speaking up could cost them all. Petticoat Patriots explores the courage of ordinary women whose choices helped shape the American Revolution.
